Max Verstappen sends Lewis Hamilton message as Fernando Alonso hits out at FIA

The likes of Mercedes and Ferrari will be desperate to challenge Red Bull next season as they seek an abrupt end to the latter’s period of dominance. They were head and shoulders above everybody else last time around, with Max Verstappen storming to his third straight Drivers’ Championship title in emphatic fashion.

Red Bull took victory at nearly every single Grand Prix weekend, with their only blip coming in Singapore when Carlos Sainz crossed the line in first to claim a rare win for Ferrari. It could be a more competitive affair next season if Red Bull’s closest challengers manage to narrow the gap, although it will certainly not be easy for any team to catch up.

Mercedes will be hoping to emerge as the next best team on the grid in order to give Lewis Hamilton a better chance of winning an eighth Drivers’ Championship title before he retires. McLaren, meanwhile, have made huge improvements over the last 12 months and will be determined to continue their progress into the new year and beyond.

Verstappen sends Hamilton message

Max Verstappen has suggested that Lewis Hamilton could be a force to be reckoned with next year if Mercedes can get their house in order as they look to challenge Red Bull.

The Dutchman singled out Mercedes as one of his biggest threats for 2024, with the likes of Ferrari and McLaren also in the mix.

“McLaren, for example, seemed to have everything on track for a while but then had a dip again,” Verstappen told NOS when quizzed on Red Bull’s biggest rivals.

“They seem to know which way to go and good people work there, but they will also want to win again at Mercedes and Ferrari also knows what to do.”
