Martin Brundle found himself forced to refuse Machine Gun Kelly’s requests in a bizarre grid walk interview at the Brazilian Grand Prix. The music artist was attempting to get the legendary broadcaster to do an air guitar impression live on air.

Brundle was navigating his trademark grid walk segment having already chatted with Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich and Brazilian football legend Marta when he came across Machine Gun Kelly.

Unfortunately for the Sky Sports F1 broadcaster, the chat went atrociously with fans left cringing at the 33-year-old’s nonchalant attitude to the interview.

After introducing himself and asking how the music artist was doing, Machine Gun Kelly – whose real name is Colson Baker – stared blankly before stating: “I have no idea what you said, but thank you.”

Brundle then repeated his welcome to the grid, to which Baker said: “Thank you, thank you. Honoured to be here.” The British broadcaster then followed up by asking about MGK’s career.

Baker replied: “What are you saying?” He then added: “Huh, my career… I don’t think about my career. I don’t think about it.” He was duly wished good luck by Brundle, who went on to ask what he thinks about F1.

“This business is great,” Baker replied. “It’s loud, your life is on the line, that’s exciting. I was in the studio the other week and Lewis Hamilton was in the other studio. That was nice, yeah, yeah.”
